marine corps kids

This is such a good idea....

http://marinecorpskids.blogspot.com/2007/07/operation-marine-corps-kids.html

as a wife of someone in the military, if my husband had been activated and not able to be with me when our dauguter was born I would have been devistated. It's SO nice to see people who understand and care.

thanks ladies! I'll get to crocheting now I could use the practice anyway! lol

ps. I think they accept all branches if you know anyone who is having a baby soon.

MY BIRTHDAY!

This week is my birthday and I am being bad about my eating (mmmm..... BROWNIES and ICECREAM!!!! How can I resist?) BUT I did ask for a healthy gift... an eyetoy for DH's PS2 and the Kinetic game. I LOVE IT! My hubby was making fun of me while I was doing the "workout" but when I paused it and let him try - he was breaking a sweat too! LOL. It doesn't look that hard but it really gets you moving and it IS hard enough to make you sweat on a beginner level.

k... well gtg. time to get some work done!

I love cloth....

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1702357,00.html

Time had an article about cloth diapers... which we use (sometimes) on our LO. I think her bottom is less red after using them and she knows she's wet so she gets changed faster so she doesn't have all that just sitting by her skin... People have really given me some funny looks when I tell them I use cloth diapers. I think it's just funny. The main thing I get is "I couldn't do that but more power to you!" I hate to tell you guys but it's really not all that hard... If you can change a paper diaper you can change cloth! Not to mention they come out cheaper and bette on the enviroment too! (GO ME!! ) I feel very "green" today... I went to the farmer's market and bought local and organic produce and plan on planting my own organic garden some time this week... I may start on it today. As far as the weight thing goes.....

Sunday was easter and the pictures we took make me look like a cow but I DID walk stores (ok... shop) for about 3 hours on friday, then went to the farmer's market and Wal-mart on Saturday, and we all know walmart is NOT a 10 minute trip! :-) PLUS I tried out a workout on friday (still feeling uncoordinated and puny so I didn't do much) and did one of those 10 min. cardio workout videos on Saturday while LO napped. Again, Easter was family day and I didn't really do anything except play with the baby and the dog - who loves to drag...... um.... I mean run with me. So I got my work out that way on easter and I have to admit I feel like superwoman today because of it!

Day 1

Sick as a dog all of a sudden this morning... (Thanks, honey!) so needless to say I won't be eating my veggies. I may try to work out depending on how I'm feeling butI wouldn't count on it...

Let's just call today a wash and try to start again tomorrow - hopefully I'll feel better then.

Since I can't do much, I have looked into buying and Shaklee on the internet. I'm playing email tag with one of their reps to see what it would take to start. That's the main thing since I'm short on funds at the moment! :)

Have a healthier day! :)

Here we go again!

I just had a baby almost 3 months ago and I think I weigh the same as I did when I was pregnant! Yikes! My "AHHH!!" moment was when I got on a scale to weight my LO and I to get her weight and saw what my weight was with out her! We'll just say there was a LOT more me and a LOT less her than I had thought! So here I am!

I'm not here to post a food diary or anything because, lets face it.... who wants to read what I ate??? ...that is unless it was something sinfully good and it better contain a recipe! But I figure that if I post this for the entire WORLD to see I had better be accountable! Like I heard one of the contestants on the biggest loser say... "I want to lose this weight before my kids realize I'm fat." Funny but too true!

I've also been VERY intrested in my health and causes of health problems because of some of the things that run in my family... ie. diabetes, blood ressure problems, heart problems, heartattacks, strokes, ect. So I am trying to find the most NATURAL way to PREVENT these things from happening to me! So here's my plan...

1. Take the nasty vitamin! Lets face it, vitamins are GROSS!!! but they are good for you therefore we need to take them!
2. Try to only use natural products around the house because I am starting to believe that part of our problems with cancer and why it's so prevalent is because of all the chemicals we use in our everyday lives. NOW! This part is going to be one of those slow and easy ones cause I have to convince my hubby of each and every thing first so wish me luck!
3. Eat atleast one veggie with each meal. I really hate this one cause that means I have to buy them and my hubby doesn't eat anything 'cept corn so it makes it hard on me to fix extra. :P (honey, just for the record... you suck...but I still love you!)
4. Phase out all unhealthy snacks from the house and move the candy bowl away from my desk at work! The second one is easy enough but phasing out snacks is going to be hard because of my dear sweet hubby.
5. Get some type of workout in during the day. This one's gunna be hard because I already get up at 6:30am and go to bed at 11-12ish because of my baby....

So I have my work cut out for me.... WISH ME LUCK EVERYONE!!!!
I'm gunna try to weigh my self tomorrow!
